I've been a fan of JANEDUSK's impeccable truly immersive dark ambient soundscapes since their first social media post and release in January 2021. Three albums, plus EPs (on Basement Corner and Fat Pidgeon) and some compilation tracks later, I am definitely immensely happy to have the opportunity to spread their work further, in the shape of this fantastic album.

I can honestly say that I have meditated to this album after watching the videos; 'Misty Memories' is psychedelic hypnosis that I made as an introduction, then 'Barren Lands' made by JANEDUSK really shows you further into their mind and vision for this release as a whole.

If you get the chance, I'd say it's worth getting comfortable for this one! A feast for anyone into the dark ambient / Cryo Chamber / Cyclic Law and related sounds.

JANEDUSK introduces the story best: "In the beginning of 2023, I spent a good amount of time in the Namibian desert. After all, deserts are my favorite biotope to visit. Huge sand dunes overlap with eroding mountains, making you feel as if you´re in a different world away from earth. The unbelievable clear night sky was awe-inspiring and a stark contrast from the light pollution I´m used to, living in a big city (Stockholm, Sweden).

The fact there is no vegetation and everywhere you look you only see decaying rocks and sand gave me the inspiration for what would become this album: 'Rust And Ruins' is a post-apocalyptic album that takes place after a horrible event, a singularity. The aim was to soundtrack how it feels to wake up in such a barren land."
