Notes for The Owl track

22 (seconds) / 7 (tracks) = PI, which is 3.14(etc)

The initial sound source for this track was made using the 7 previous tracks in 'the chain' by Mike Benoit, Scott Lawlor, Insectarium, Mindripper, FilmScore Project, Luct Melod and War Magic.

Each of those tracks were sped up to 22 seconds in length, then layered on top of each other, creating a brand new sound which you can hear in the first 22 seconds of the track.

I then manipulated, pitched, layered more, found loops within those sounds to expand upon, until I had a 4 minute 52 seconds track that I felt was finished, and put it on the end of the original sound manipulation, to equal 5 minutes 14 seconds, or 314 seconds.

That was my slice of the Pi!

This was my introduction to The Owl. Wow! Brilliant without being forced. The production is flawless. That separation that really makes it come alive. Transporting the listener to these unrelenting environments. I can feel the desolation. Each track stands alone, yet the continuity weaves it together making the parts a whole piece.
